Kat Von D is one of the most visible tattoo artists thanks to Kat being on the popular "Miami Ink" and her own show "L.A. Ink." She is a very talented artist and now has about a two year waiting list for her appointments.

Kat is also one of the celebrities that the public either loves or hates. While reading up on her I was amazed at the amount of comments on sites that slammed her. But, then again, the internet is known for "trolls" that love to leave hateful comments because of the anonymous nature of the internet and the ability to hide behind screen names.
Personally, I think that for as young as she is (26) she has a phenomenal talent especially where portrait tattoos are concerned. Yes, she was trained by some of the best talent out there, but you have to have an innate artistic talent to do this work as well as Kat does.
She is a beautiful woman that happens to have (lots of) tattoos. Not many women could get away with having facial tattoos and a neck tattoo, but these do not really detract from her beauty. Since she is a tattoo artist, it should not be a surprise that she is heavily tattooed, since most tattoo artists are. Maybe the flack is centered on her being a woman since very little is said about her male counterparts. L.A. Ink does showcase other great female tattoo artists that are also tattooed so maybe the shock (?) of seeing beautiful women with tattoos will soon be over.
